NLP & Coaching

There is tremendous growth in Coaching and its having great effect in business, increasing high performance at work and improving the quality of relationships in people’s lives. It raises the performance of the individual which can be directly measured in business results; retaining and growing talent within organisations.

Coaching continues to develop and is influenced by both philosophical and psychological approaches, taking coaching much further than the boundaries of the G.R.O.W. model approach to questioning.

Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) is an approach which aids the coaching process by enabling ‘powerful’ coaching conversations to achieve transformational results as opposed to transactional interactions. In essence, NLP is the study of what works in thinking (neuro), language (linguistic) and behaviour (programming) ie the way in which we think is represented by our language and behaviour. When the principles of NLP are combined with coaching a compelling, deeper connection emerges which allows greater self-awareness, trust and understanding.

Working at this deeper level taps into an individual’s sense of purpose, identity, values and beliefs; this level of awareness allows alignment with authentic and congruent behaviour to reproduce strategies for excellence in the workplace and in life.

‘Coaching is unlocking a persons potential to maximise their own performance. It is helping them to learn rather than teaching them.’ - Tim Gallwey.
